21 Dream Presents for My 21st Birthday

Today is Sunday, the 23rd of January, which means that my 21st birthday is tomorrow!!!

I am way excited & totally looking forward to my birthday week. So in honor of me being born (and the world would totally be a less awesome place without me in it), the blog is going to be all 21 and all tasia for the next week! Today will be my "Dream Presents" post, tomorrow (my b-day!) will be random facts about me, Tuesday will be 21 people who have influenced my life. Y'all get the gist right? I'm so looking forward to writing each post!

So, to start things off, here are my top 21 Dream Presents for my 21st birthday!

15-21. Way cute clothes from Old Navy. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love ON!
14. Babysitting Mama for Wii. I love all those "Mama" games. Ever since I got my DS, I've been playing Cooking Mama and Cooking Mama 2! So when I saw Babysitting Mama for Wii, I had to have it! (photo courtesy of Amazon.)
13. well...apparently i left out number 13. obviously it isn't my favorite number :)
12. Glee Karaoke Revolution on Wii. Uhm, hello! Major Gleek here! (photo courtesy of Amazon.)
11. Xbox 360 with Kinect. I'm dying to play Kinect! I got to watch people play in Best Buy but I never got to play. Sad face. (photo courtesy of Amazon.com)
10. Betty Crocker's Cooky Book. Uhm. I love cookies. And I love baking. So a baking cook book equals awesome. (photo courtesy of Walmart.com)
9. The super awesome Purple Unicorn Pillow Pet! I am obsessed with this guy. Every time I go to Wal Mart, I just have to pet him. If I had one, I'd name him Sillie. (photo courtesy of Amazon.com)
4-8. All of these beautiful patterns (and more patterns and awesome fabric). Simplicity has seriously awesome patterns and at cheap prices. Their clearance section has patterns for $1.59! Crazy!
3. I still lust after this beautiful iPad. I'm an apple junkie. My mac-instincts (it exists) tell me that I NEED it!
2. A kindle! I want a kindle so badly, it's crazy! I neeeeed the Kindle! I don't have anything more to say about that. (photo courtesy of Amazon.com)
1. I want Flynn Rider. Ok. I know my Tangled obsession is crazy. But I love Flynn Rider. He is totally my celebrity crush right now! What? A cartoon can't be your celebrity crush? Well fine, I want to meet a guy who is like Flynn Rider. I mean, he's like the typical bad boy, with a good heart. He's handsome, he is brave, he's funny & witty, he's cute. Yep, I love him. He's my prince charming. So send me a Flynn Rider and I will love you forever!

{What's on your Birthday Wishlist? Even if it's not your birthday, whatever. I'll share mine with you!}

Weekend Happies!

Mamarazzi is seriously one of my favorite bloggers of ALL time.
(that kinda sounded like a Kanye moment, huh?)
Well, if Mamarazzi was up for a VMA & someone else won,
I'd totally pull a Kanye West. Seriously.

Anyways, since she's is awesome & has awesome link ups,
I'm almost always linking up over there.
And today is time for another link up!
My Weekend Happy List!

Photobucket

First of all, it's the weekend! Which is reason enough to be happy :)
But here are some other things that are making me smile this weekend....

NYC Nail Polish:  i love NYC Nail Polish. It's seriously my favorite brand. It's cheap & long lasting. That is my kind of perfect. I just got 3 new NYC brand colors that I can't wait to use!

Ward Conference Weekend: This weekend is my ward's conference! Which means conference dinner tonight! The RS is going to be dancing to Cupid's Shuffle, which I'm not too keen about though. I love the song, but not for RS.

The Last Song: I'm currently reading this book for my book review blog and I love it! I fell in love with the movie (and cried and cried while watching it), so I of course had to read the book. Plus, I'm kinda obsessed with Miley Cyrus. She's a bad influence on little kids, but IDK I sorta love her.

Speak Now by Taylor Swift: I don't think anyone on here understands my love for T. Swizzle. Seriously, if I knew Tay in real life, we'd totally be BFFL!

Awesome Bloggy Friends!: I feel like I've gotten to know so many of you by reading your blogs, and the awesome comments that you send me. I love all of your comments & I do take the time to read them (uhm...almost obsessively) and I always try to respond!

The way this tie turned out!: I was seriously having major issues with this tie when I first started to make it. Like, I wanted to throw my sewing machine out the window & toss in the towel on sewing forever. But after coming back to it with a clear mind, I finished it and I love it! I guess that just goes to show that persistance and patience really pays off! Plus I know Elder M. will love it!

My birthday is in two days! It's so funny, I'm unusually calm about this birthday. Usually, I have a countdown going on facebook from January 1st, but this year I didn't count down at all. I'm excited for my birthday, of course, but I'm just really calm about it. Does this mean I'm geting old?! Haha ;P

those are my weekend happies!
what's on your happy list?

Finally Done!

Last week, I started making a tie for a friend whose birthday is coming up soon. Said friend is currently serving a mission, so I try to send them things that they will use rather than things that they don't need at the time. For the Elder Dude, (whose birthday was in November) I asked my grandma to crochet him a scarf and a beenie. He's serving in Japan, where I'm sure it gets cold, so I figured it would be useful.

For other Elder Dude, let's call him Elder M, I decided to try my hand at sewing a tie! Since I got the sewing machine for Christmas, I decided that a tie would be useful. All missionaries need a good tie! So, I went to work last week, because I want to get it mailed before his birthday (Feb 2). The first day was easy, I just cut out the pattern and did my basting stitches. And then it got stressful. I couldn't figure out how to sew it and my seam ripper became my very best friend! So I put it away for the weekend and I decided to get back to it today.

And it was way better! Going into the project with a clear mind is really what I needed. I did everything exactly right (with the help of google) and I am so pleased with the final result. I was going to write in his birthday card (jokingly, of course): "Dear Elder M, I'm sorry this tie is ugly, it was the first one I've ever made. I guess you're just lucky like that." But now, I don't even have to write that!

Here's the end result:

After a while, I got smart and turned the flash on :)

I adore this material! I wish I had more, then I could make a matching skirt :)

When You Wish Upon A Staaarrr....

Today is supposed to be the very first Wishlist Wednesday. Buuuuttt...I decided that I didn't want to do that. Instead, I'm sharing some of my sewing funness with y'alls!!

A little bit of background on this whole sewing thing, uhhm...I just started sewing on MONDAY! Yep, on Monday. And I've completely finished one project and I just need some backing to finish my other one. Here are some pictures!

This is my finished pillowcase!
I made this baby from a random piece of fabric I found in my room.
It was really simple to make and I finished it in under 1 hour.

This is the start of my blanket/quilt thingy.
I bought these fabric squares from Wal Mart to practice on.
I sewed the squares together in rows of four on Monday night,
then last night, I sewed the rows together.
Now I just need to get backing to make it look more uniform!

my wishlist for wednesday
- i wish that i could afford all the billions of patterns i want to try.
- i wish that i had more fabric to play around with.

oh!  and guess what?!
i won a giveaway for the first time ever!
it was on Students Saving Bucks
& it was for a  Mango Languages Bundle!
I'm so excited to have won!!
Now, I just have to decide which language I want to learn.
I think I'm gonna go with Japanese so that when the dude writes,
I can actually understand his broken japanese :)

Must Love Monday #1

It's MONDAY! Which must mean it's time for Must Love Monday. Well, here are some things that I am absolutely loving today.

This little dude is sooooo cute. Naughty but cute!

I adore the fact that this show is back on as of tonight! I didn't get to watch it yet, though (waiting for ABC Family to get it online!), so no spoilers please!

I love that I finally got to use this baby today! All I did was sew little scrap fabric squares together in an attempt to make a mix-matched blanket. Turns out, I should've measured before. My lines are all different sizes and I was somewhat freakin' out about it (because I'm a huge perfectionist), but all shall be well.

Aren't these little guys the absolute cutest?!

I love that I got to talk to my best friend last night. And for a long time too. It was absolutely wonderful catching up.

And mostly, I love that Heavenly Father answers prayers

What do you love most today?

Hau'oli Hump Day!

Happy, Happy Wednesday everyone! I can't believe that in just two days, it's going to be 2011! I have a feeling that 2011 is going to be one of my best years ever. And usually my feelings are pretty accurate.

The last few days have been spent cleaning my room and moving things around in preparation for the New Year! In the next few days I'll also have some excellent blog posts recapping 2010 as well. But as for right now, how about I just recap my Christmas? mmkay, here goes!

The miss lady luvs on christmas eve! She's so photogenic, it kills me!

The Christmas trees that I set up in my room. The first is with the light on, and yeah I know my room was a crazy mess! And the second is with the lights off and the fiber optics on. I love my mini Christmas tree. I've had it since I was in high school and it was always present in my dorm room around Christmas time, my friends and I even put Christmas presents under it pre-Christmas vacation!

My two pups on Christmas morning. Merlin and Lady Luvs

Yeah, I tried to at least take a decent Christmas picture, plus I loved my outfit that day :)

Christmas presents! Jewel=Awesome. Elvis=the KING, enough said. George Strait=my dream guy, really!

I got Dance on Broadway for Wii! It's pretty intense, haha. I love it though. I'm also going to get Just Dance 2 and Zumba for Wii. I'll review them too, later, maybe even with a video of me making a fool of myself dancing to Bend and Snap!

And for my number one present
My sewing machine! I've been dying for one for a while and I assumed that I was just going to get the own my family owns (which I was totally content with), instead my grandma surprised me with a brand spanking new one! And it's a Limited Edition Project Runway one and it comes with 50 built in stitches and it has an LCD screen. Yeah, I'm pretty much in love with it.
Here's my baby in all her glory! I also got a few yards of fabric, two easy patterns, an easy sew apron and pillowcase kit, a sewing essentials kit and some quilting scraps so I can start of easily with a blanket. Yeah, I've never really sewn at all before, so this is going to be INTERESTING. But I'm really optimistic about it, soo...

I got another present that I didn't really expect, it was truly a nice surprise. Remember how I told y'all that I got to witness my two friends getting engaged? Well...
She asked me to be one of her bridesmaids!! I'm so excited it's crazy! This is the first time that I'm going to be a bridesmaid for someone other than family, so it makes me even more excited for all the upcoming Weddings!!
I'm most excited about helping her figure out all the little details and stuff. I already have way too many ideas for my own good :)

At least I now have a justified reason to look at wedding sites and blogs :)

This is a procrastination blog

It's true, I am procrastinating. I keep telling myself that I will at least start to clean my room today, but it just hasn't happened yet. I blame it on the fact that I only woke up an hour ago (that's extremely weird for me!), I blame that on the rain. It's been super rainy here for the last two days (which I looooveee!!!!!), but alas today the blue skies and mr. sun has decided to emerge again. Bummer, because I was looking for an excuse to stay under covers today!

Anyway, moving on with life. Today is my cousin Nehemiah's 11th birthday! Happy Birthday Miah!!!

Also, Homespun Threads has given me a wonderful Christmas present, and it's for all of you too. All of the sewing patterns in the Homespun Threads shop is completely FREE right now. So if you're interested in sewing (and even if you're not) I suggest you head on over there and browse through them. Uhm, I may or may not have gotten a little crazy with that whole thing. It's perfect though! One of my goals for the new year is to teach myself how to sew (it'll be interesting...trust me), so having these patterns will definitely be worth it!

Now, for today's Ten on Tuesday via Roots and Rings

1. Do you do any volunteer work? I do. Well, I try to anyway. I actually really like volunteer work, though! That reminds me, I have to do like 50 hours for my scholarship...
2. Do you have night and/or morning ritual? Uhm, I used to and I need to get back into it. In the morning, I would wake up and read my scriptures, then I would eat breakfast & watch some TV or go on the computer. At night, I would read my scriptures again and then read a book until I got really tired.
3. Would you rather exercise or diet? Why? Exercise. Because I like food. A lot.
4. If you would rather exercise, do you prefer going to a gym or working out at home? Both, I guess. It depends. I love doing work out videos and stuf, but I'd rather run on a treadmill and do stuff like Zumba in a class.
5. What do you think is a huge waste of time? Fighting and holding grudges. Just let it go, move on. I mean, don't dwell on it. If you dwell, you're wasting all of your precious time when you could be doing something that makes you happy.
6. What is one way you save time? Being organized! When I know where everything is and that everything has a place, it's so much easier to get things done quicker!
7. What is your current obsession? Online, forum type RPG Games. Yeah, I'm kinda a dork like that. I'm currently in like four different RPGs. They're fun though, you all should join!
8. What is a current obsession you can’t wait to pass? Uhm....I don't know.
9. Are you currently reading a book? If so, what book? Would you recommend it? I am! I'm reading Memoirs of A Geisha by Arthur Golden. It's the first book that I'm reading on my book list for my new Book Blog! I've read it before and I liked it a lot then, but now that I'm older I actually understand more of the themes and I like it a lot better, so yes, you all should read it!
10. Since we had the 90s question last week, what’s your favorite songs from 00′s? Is this not counting 2010, since technically it's the start of the new decade? Well, the 00s are pretty much all my music, I grew up with most of the artists in the 00s. I have to say Taylor Swifts songs (yes all of them) are among my favorites, It Happens Everytime by Dream Street will always be awesome), NSYNC, Mandy Moore, Eminem...I really can't decide on just songs!

I am the momma of the weirdest puppy in the world! This morning, I found her inside the bag of dog food, with no food left in the bag at all. She got so startled when I found her. One of these days I am going to have to dedicate a blog post to her and all of her weird little quirks!

Ok, now I have to stop procrastinating. Later days!
