Fill In the Blank Friday

Hi guys. I am so sick right now. I could barely muster up enough energy to do this post. Literally. As of right now, I am lying on my back in bed with my laptop propped up against my knees, wanting sleep.

Turns out this horrible strain of the flu is going around, and although I did get my flu shot (and I have the immune system of a super hero, yay working with germy perschoolers!) I am not immune to this strain. And the worst part is that it is just in the beginning stages.

But I haven't blogged in so long and I miss you guys, so I figured I'd at least try to get enough energy to do a linky party!

1.   I am currently obsessed with       Glee RPG. I cannot even begin to explain how much of a closeted nerd I am. I am also currently obsessed with the song Pretty Girl Rock by Keri Hilson and all things Ke$ha.   .

2.  Today I am    tired     because,    well, because I'm sick. My throat is killing me, my head is sore and my muscles are in pain. I need a nap just thinking about all the pain my body is in.   .

3.  The age I am is    21     and the age I feel is    perfect. I think that being 21 sometimes means that you will feel grown up, and sometimes you'll feel not so grown up, and that's exactly where I am.     .

4.  My favorite place is     my bed. So soft and comfy and perfect for just me.  .

5.  Something I have been procrastinating is     school work. I've been so extremely lazy this week because I don't feel way and I haven't done ANY school work at all. I know, shame on me.  .

6.  The last thing I purchased was        uhhm....dinner.   .

7.  The thing I love most about my home is       that it is my home. I grew up here. It's the home that my mommy brought me home from the hospital to, it's the home where I lost my first tooth (from rollerskating in the house). Most of my fondest memories are connected to this home. In fact, I can even see myself bringing my first child home to this house too...    .

Happy Weekend Guys! Stay Healthy!

Confessions of A Tasia

I'm just gonna get this confessions action started by saying, I confess that it's 2:15 in the morning and I am still awake and totally tweeking on the computer! But I just got back from a lovely gym date with two of my favorite girls!

I confess that I am watching the Suite Life of Zach and Cody. It's the one from when they were younger, so it's pretty lovely.

I confess that I am feeling a little love sick lately. It's kinda stupid, but yeah. I just need somebody to loooooveee!!!

Speaking of needing somebody to love, I confess that I totally fangirled over ever single aspect of Glee on Tuesday night! I mean, c'mon-Justin Bieber, Puck playing guitar in his undies, HBIC Santana. I loved it all!

I confess it has taken me a really long time to truly love and appreciate my body. I used to look at myself in the mirror, hating everything about me. Now, when I look at myself in the mirror I have a greater appreciation of my body and of who I am. I am glad to say that my self esteem has really improved over the years.

I confess...I just ate three barbecue wings, and it was delicious.

And also, I confess that I have yet to shower. But now I shall head off the computer so I can get a good shower and then go to sleep while my arms are not yet in pain.

Night all!

Oh. Hi...What's Up Guys?...

I've been completely M.I.A. the past few days, and trust me, I feel badly about it. What have I been doing, you ask?

....Uhhhhmmm....noooothing. Literally. Haha, I've been up to nothing and yet I have been too lazy to update the blog. But I know that you forgive me, because you love me and think I'm awesome, right?

If it makes you feel better, I finally had inspiration and I now have an idea for my very first book!! Writing a book is one of my Day Zero Project goals, so I'm really excited about this. I'm actually loving where the plot of my book is going and I'm already in love with my main character. It's going to be really exciting! And, the idea came in the coolest way ever! Through a dream! So, I feel like I was meant to write the story.

Also, it turns out that I've done 7 out of the 101 things on my Day Zero Project list! Woohoo, go me!!

In my absence, I also managed to secure an award! How awesome is that? It's the Stylish Blogger award from the wonderful Delina of Dew This!

Thank you, Delina! I am way too overly happy about this award :). And, uhm, if you're not following Dew This, I suggest you hele on over to her blog and follow right now. Go ahead, I'll be here when you get back........(5 minutes later)....Back? See, I knew you'd love her blog!

The rules for this award are simple. First, thank and link back to the person who gave you the award. Then share 7 things about yourself. And finally, tag 15 other bloggers and let them know that you've given them an award!

So here are my 7 facts....

  1. I am easily excitable. Seriously. I'll get excited over the littles things.
  2. I also have an addictive personality. Once I like something, I REALLY like it. Or if I don't like something, then I want nothing to do with it. There are no in betweens.
  3. I am seriously considering being a wedding/event planner. I mean, I'd always have a job, at least in mormon world...
  4. My favorite song to dance to on Just Dance 2 is Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne.
  5. I have no idea where my recent obsession with heels and the color purple has come from. I think I've been hanging out with Ashley a little too much...
  6. I am way too invested in my characters on this website.
  7. My tummy is rumbling right now because I haven't eaten anything since breakfast, but it's not time for dinner yet...sigh.
So yeah. That's 7 things you currently did not know about me. Unless you did know it, then you're probably stalking me :)

And I'm giving the award to these awesome people: Jia, Steph, Rachel, Celina, Mamarazzi, Ash, Holly, Angela, Jen, Kelsey, Elise, Brandi, Krysten, Kalina, and THE Impulsive Addict.

I'm pretty sure that I stalk each of their blogs every day (or whenever they update....) and after reading, I'm pretty sure that you will also want to stalk their blogs every day. So, get on going and check out their blogs.

As for me, I'm going to do more research for my soon-to-be WONDERFUL book. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a national best seller one day. Pretty sure. :)

This Weekend on Tumblr:
I'm doing this challenge on my personal tumblr:

This Weekend In Life:
Best Friend came to Oahu! He's here for 2 weeks! I'm so excited, it's crazy. Can't wait to see him!

But, I do think it's a little fishy that he decided to come the day after I told him that an ex boyfriend of mine wanted to pay for me to go see him in Cali, when I've been trying to convince him to come down for FOREVER.

Happy Valentine's Day Y'alls<3

February 11, 2011

I need to take a nap...

Because I'm old and I can't stay out late without one. Haha :)

Tri-Stake YSA Dance tonight means that I am WAY excited. I'm looking to find my eternal companion there tonight ;P. Just kidding.....kind of.

Before the nap, here are some friday link-ups!

Head over to Lauren's blog to link up!

1.   The TV show/website that I watch/read that I would be embarrassed to tell anyone about is       probably Jersey Shore. I mean, I know everyone loves Jersey Shore, but that's the reason that I refused to watch it. It was too popular, I hated it. But then, I watched it at my Uncle's house with my Aunty and Uncle and I loved it. It's addicting. Ok, now you know my secret....  .

2.  An item of clothing that is worn and torn but that I love far to much to throw away is    this one pair of Paris Blues jeans. They were cheap, but I love them so much. They're my most comfy pair of jeans, and they're so worn out, I love it! I think I've had that pair since ninth grade. The Zipper is broken (I'm planning on fixing that) that edges are worn, but I love them!   .

3.  My grocery store impulse buy is       magazines or candy at the checkout stand, and Chips Ahoy cookies! I'm a sucker for Chips Ahoy!   .

4.  Something I do at work to pass time that I wouldn't want my co-workers to know about is   I used to tweet on the job. So bad, but way addicting!   .

5.  One thing in my life that I could give up, but never will is     the internet and social networking. I love reading blogs, facebook, and twitter. I love it.  .

6.  A little indulgence that I have is        Push-Up Sherbet ice cream, haha. Whenever I go to a store, if they have Push Ups in their ice cream freezer, I just have to have it!     .

7.  The junk drawer/area in my house is       Uhhmm....we don't really have one, haha :)     .

And also, confessionals with the glammest mamma's on the block!

I Confess....

Sometime last week, I saw a tweet that an old best friend posted. It was kind of sad, so I decided to text her to see if she was ok. Our relationship had been rough for a while, but by texting her I took the steps to really forgive her. And everything went really well. I was grateful for that :)

I was kinda bummed that I didn't get to link up last week. I spent the whole day at Future-MIL's house cleaning and painting and decorating for a baby shower.

I'm going to look way F*A*B (in the words of my RS president) tonight at the YSA dance. I mean, look at this outfit:

Just add cute black flats, beautiful purple eyeshadow, my new CoverGirl Foundation (which I really only got because T-Swizzle endorses it), and purple/black nail polish. Yeah. I'm hot.

I'm way excited about the dance! It's hosted by Mililani Stake, with the help of Waipahu & Makakilo Stake, but of course the whole island is going to come! So. Many. Hot. Mormons! :P

I'm going with two of my friends (they're a couple & they're engaged & i'm one of their bridesmaids) who are bringing along a recently returned missionary. I think this is a set up You?

I hate funerals.

And that is all. Now I'm gonna nap!

Birthday Recap: {SURPRISE!}

I promised you guys a birthday recap last week & I know, I didn't get it done. In my defense, last week was an unusually busy week! But not to worry! I am finally giving you a birthday recap now!

My 21st birthday fell on a Monday this year, which I didn't mind at all. In fact, I love Mondays! During the day, I put on my princess crown and we went to run a few errands. I got to eat at Aloha Sushi for lunch and I sent off Elder M's birthday package!
i wore that crown last on my 18th birthday when I was a senior in HS (which was almost 3 years ago!!)

That evening, my Future Mother-In-Law (inside joke. she desperately wants me to marry one of her sons) was kind enough to host a small birthday dinner at her house. Well, it was supposed to be small, anyway. What was supposed to be only 10 or so people gathering turned in to 20 people! Crazy!

We had yummy food (fried chicken! homemade mac and cheese! pork and beans!) and it was basically a good time. Oh, I also got wrapped in saran wrap and toilet paper. And then I got a facial....a cake facial...
that was the before, during, and after. lovely, no?

Fast forward to the weekend. On Friday night, I went to a YSA dance at the Honolulu Institute with my homies! (And we went to Denny's and stayed out until 3am...which was a bad idea...you'll see why later...)
Yes, it's upside down on purpose. We R Who We R.

On Saturday morning, Alofa, Abe and I (they are the two at the front of the picture) were supposed to wake up at 7am so that we could go hike Diamond Head and then we were gonna go to Sea Life Park. Well...seeing as we got home at 3:30am, we did not wake up at 7. Actually, I did, they didn't. But I digress...

So, instead of going hiking, we just went to Sea Life Park. It was fun! I hadn't been there since I was in about 7th grade and it seemed so much smaller to me then. Then again, I've been to Sea World, anything compared to that is teeny. But, it was fun! Abe got to have a dolphin adventure (which reminds me, I still have to post about my dolphin adventure in the Cayman Islands...and about my whole trip back in December....haha, I'll get there!), while Alofa & I snapped pictures. We also got to see a Sea Lion and Dolphin show.

1. I love penguins!! 2. Alofa and I with the dolphin. I also LOVE dolphins!

But the day was wearing on and I was supposed to be at my Uncle's house by 5:30 to babysit. But it was already 4:45 and we hadn't left yet, plus Abe was taking sooooo long it was driving me crazy! Mind you, it takes about an hour and a half to get from where we were (Makapu'u) to where I needed to be (Mililani). Insert angry frustrated Tasia.

I was also slightly dehydrated. Thankfully, on the way to Mililani we stopped for Ice Shave (that's the Big Island way of saying "Shave Ice" or "Ice Cones") and I got a HUGE bottle of water.

Finally we got to Mililani and we were pulling in by my Uncle's road. There was a CRAP LOAD of cars there, which is pretty unusual for his street. We also almost got into a car accident (it turned out to be one of my friends, but I didn't recognize him). I guess it was kind of a good thing that he almost hit us, because I was distracted and I didn't notice the tent and tables set up outside of my uncle's house until right when we got there.

I was like "What the heck is going on? Is this a surprise?"

Which it apparently was! Haha. Everyone I knew was in on it and everyone worked so HARD not to tell me! It was pretty awesome!! All of my friends and most of my family was there that could be there. It was amazing.

I don't have very many pictures from the party as I was too busy being the birthday girl (my friends have some but I haven't seen 'em yet. sad face), but here are some pictures of me and my cake (i LOVE tinker bell)

The party was so fun! We hung out, we played games, everyone got along and it was fun!

Have you ever been the recipient of a surprise birthday party? What was the best birthday you've ever had?

Wee Bit of Me

It's already Wednesday! Crazy! Is it just me or does the days seem to fly by as you get older?

I'm supposed to be sewing up my dress for the Valentine's Dance on Friday, but we'll see if that gets done. I do have a back-up outfit if all else fails though! I also have a psychology test that is due on Friday and another psychology test that opens on friday. We'll see how much I get done, though. Anyway, before I go and do all of the stuff that I NEED to do, here's a Wee Bit of Me!

{one} ice: crushed or cubed?
depends on my mood, haha. for the most part, i like crushed ice, but i love sucking on cubed ice on hot days or when my throat is sore.

{two} what is your worst traffic pet peeve?
People who are rude and won't let you merge or cut in or turn when they see that you obviously need to!

{three} what room in your house best represents your personality?
well, my bedroom is the only space that is really MINE right now, so I guess that...

{four} do you save old birthday cards?
I do. In fact, I have a few bags full of old birthday cards and letters. I'm sentimental like that, I guess.

{five} when was the last time you went on a picnic?
Uhm, November.

{six} do you regularly check your horoscope?
It pops up on my facebook, so I do look at it.

{seven} when you’re home, what do you wear on your feet?
Nothing at all! I'm a Hawaii girl, we don't wear anything on our feet in the house, or outside the house half the time for that matter!

{eight} what’s your favorite gambling game?
I don't know any gambling games! Haha, I just turned 21 so maybe someone needs to teach me before my next trip to Vegas?

{nine} have you ever written (or started writing) a book?
I wrote books like it was no ones business when I was younger. I also wrote a book about coping with death (for young children) when I was in high school (shortly after I lost my grandpa). I want to write a Young Adult Fiction book one day. I had a dream last night that could totally be turned into a book, but I don't remember much of the dream. I knew I totally should have written it down!

{ten} what is your favorite musical?
Rent. I wish that I could've seen it live! I also loved Grease on stage and I want to see Wicked live one day too!

February 8, 2011

For some reason, I feel like I have a million things going on today, when I'm pretty sure that I don't! But either way, here are my link-ups so that I'm not wasting my day away blogging!

1. What’s your favorite kind of donut?
I like just plain old glazed donuts, or twisty donuts, or donut holes. Mike's Bakery in Nanakuli always makes 'ono (delicious) donuts. I also like donuts from Napoleon's Bakery.
2. Do you use the snooze button?
I'll usually just hit it once and if I'm still snoozing by the time my alarm goes off again, I just turn it off. I enjoy living this flexible sleep life of a college student :)
3. Do you write in cursive, print, or a combination of the two?
My handwriting is a combination of the two.
4. Tell us a joke.
It's a local Hawaii joke, so not everyone may get it, but it's the only jokes I know...
Da Hawaiian, Filipino and Podagee was stuck on the top floor of a burning building. When the fire department arrives, they immediately hold out a safety net for the victims to jump down on. So da' Hawaiian and da' Filipino go for it and jump to safety.
But da' Podagee refuses to jump. The fire crew yells up to him, "sir please get over your fears and jump or we can't help you!". Da Podagee yells back, "No way brah! I not going jump until you put da' net down on da' ground first!".

5. How many languages do you speak?
English, Hawaiian Pidgin English (which is actually a language...haha), and Hawaiian. I can also understand some Spanish and Japanese.
6. Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging as a way to meet new people who shared similar interests with me. And I sure have met a lot!
7. Do you use bar soap or liquid body wash?
Liquid body wash!
8. Do you buy bottled water?
Yes, it's mostly supposed to be for emergency preparedness though.
9. What did you think of the Super Bowl Half Time Show?
I didn't watch it.
10. How do you feel about Steve Carell leaving The Office?
I'm kind of sad. It's going to be interesting to see how they fill that void. I mean sure the whole cast is funny and quirky in their own ways, but everything just seemed so much more pulled together with Michael there.

February 7, 2011

Nice to Meet Ya!

I don't usually do Monday link-ups, but I found a new one, so let's try it out!

1.  Did you watch the Superbowl?
No, I did not! I love sports (especially football) but I have a hard time getting into pro football when I don't know who is playing/it's not my team. (for the record, I'm a RAIDERS fan). Plus, my ward doesn't start until 1 and Superbowl is in the afternoon, so no time to watch. I did keep up with the score throughout church on ESPN from my phone though! I was a temporary PACKERS fan yesterday!

2.  What is the last book that you read?
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins! I'm still not done with it yet, but I'm absolutely in love with it so far!

3.  What is your favorite kind of cake?
Chantilly cake! Which I just learned is specifically a Hawaii cake! I didn't know that before, I thought that there was Chantilly cake across the world! I think Chantilly cake is most like German Chocolate Cake, but it does taste a little different.
Liliha Bakery makes the BEST Chantilly Cake (and Cocoa puffs with Chantilly frosting...yum!). Zippy's also makes DELICIOUS Chantilly Cakes! My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

4.  Do you snore?
I only snore when I'm super tired. Like, dead tired-head hits the pillow and I'm out, tired.

5.  Do you play an instrument?
Sadly, I do not. I'm just not musical. Which is why it is my goal in life to find a husband who IS musical.

February 6, 2011

the plight of having a boy best friend...

This weekend has been just as tiring as the week before!
Hopefully this coming week will allow me more relaxation time (but I seriously doubt it!)
Church was PACKED today!
We had a baby blessing & a confirmation.
But a packed church was a major surprise today, since it's super bowl sunday.
(and my ward doesn't start until 1)

Speaking of the Super Bowl,
How you like them PACKERS?
I woke up this morning and decided they were my team.
Because really, I don't care for either team, but the Pack was the underdog, so y'know I had to root for them.
And they won.
If I bet on the game, I so would've won.
But I'm mormon...so I didn't bet...haha.
I all out wore green and yellow to church today!
I even googled Packers inspired eye make-up.
Yeah I was a major Cheesehead today :)

I got to see my best friend's parents today!
They live on the Big Island, but they've been on O'ahu since friday.
(cause best friend's dad had eye surgery on friday)
Speaking of best friend, he said something so weird to me last night.

We were talking on the phone (we talk almost every night cause he lives on the big island and i live on oahu) and I was telling him about how one of my friends told me that I shouldn't settle on a guy who isn't an RM and he said "Why? What if I wanted to marry you?"

I was kind of taken aback by his comment because 1. We've never been the type of best friends who've joked about being married one day 2. It was just so sudden, I didn't expect that from him. The idea of marrying him has honestly never crossed my mind. A few posts back, I wrote about how he hurt my feelings because of some other guy and some of you said that he might be crushing on me. I pushed those ideas aside because it was never like that with us. I figured it was more because he was being a protective brother type. But now that he said that I don't know what to think?

The line between "just friends" and "more than friends" is so thin that it is practically invisible. But my question is did his comment mean crossing the line into more than friends territory?

I'm so confused. I've never thought about him as more than a friend, but because of his comment I am way over thinking things. Advice?
